Internet platform for the Water industry
AQUANOVA is an initiative to create a communication network between
and with various branch associations, publishers, companies and other organisations,
involved in provision and exchange of information for the 'water industry'
sectors.
Traditional communication around 'water' is covered by a range of media:
magazines, activities and services by branch associations, congresses,
exhibitions, branch registers etc. The present challenge lies in adding
Internet as extra communication medium and as 'virtual' link between the
present range of communication activities and concerned organisations.
Internet is expanding fast and is now accepted widely. This implicates
a fast growing number of Internet users, with an increasing share of companies.
It also means, that information providers have an increasing desire and
can have increasing benefits from starting their own Web presence. It is
anticipated, that these organisations will opt more and more for their
own Web domain because of the external impact.
However, bundling of the information offer and with this a cross-fertilization
of marketing efforts by individual suppliers to potential users is in practice
a more effective strategy to achieve good 'usage statistics', to reach
a specific target group of users and to attain these as regular users.
'AQUANOVA', Star for the Water sector
The Terms of Reference for the AQUANOVA Internet-initiative are as follows:
- participating organisations will have their own Web domain and by
this give a direct entrance for their users
- the AQUANOVA website is an 'umbrella', giving an easy, well-structured
and attractive overview and access to the participating partners and their
range of information.
- marketing is undertaken at both levels:
- organisations include their own domain website in their traditional
communication to members and/or associated companies
- the individual partner websites will include a reference (by means
of a 'banner with link'), that they are partners in the AQUANOVA initiative
- central marketing and promotion for AQUANOVA is undertaken towards
both potential users as well as providers of water information by means
of leaflets, active acquisition, articles in professional magazines, exhibiting
at the AQUATECH exhibition etc.
- For further information the AQUANOVA website gives a direct link
to the websites of the participating organisations.
This creates a star-network with two-way traffic between AQUANOVA and
PARTICIPATING ORGANISATIONS, while users can come in from both sides.
The AQUANOVA initiative has been started in january 1998 and will be
expanded further in the coming months, also in an international direction.
Our search is aimed at partners with water networks and qualitative good
information, that are willing to participate in the AQUANOVA initiative.
The leading motive is, that bundling of forces will result in the establishment
and formation of a real communication platform for the water sector, that
will present itself and will cross-fertilize with various media and ways
of communication.
